Vaccination Requirements

Most visitors to The Bahamas do not need special vaccinations before entering the country.

However, travelers over one year of age must provide a valid yellow fever vaccination certificate if they are coming from the following countries: Angola, Benin, Bolivia, Brazil, Burkina Faso, Colombia, Cameroon, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ecuador, French Guiana, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Liberia, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Peru and Sudan.

Travellers are required to be vaccinated 10 days prior to entering the islands of The Bahamas.

Customs & Immigrations

Arrival:
Upon arriving in The Islands of The Bahamas, everyone must fill out and sign an Immigration form, keeping a portion of the card in hand until departing. An oral baggage declaration is required.

Departure:
When leaving the Bahamas residents and visitors alike must pay a departure Tax of $15.

Departures to the US must go through US Customs pre-clearance.

VISAS ARE NOT REQUIRED FOR THE FOLLOWING PERSONS:

I United States Citizens

II Canadian Citizens
Landed immigrants, in possession of Canadian Immigration Record Form 1000 may enter without a visa for visits not exceeding thirty days. These individuals should also have a national passport.

III United Kingdom Citizens

IV Citizens of Western European Countries

V Citizens of Caribbean Countries and Territories
Exception: Cuba, Dominican Republic, Haiti and Surname

VI Commonwealth Citizens
Exception: Pakistan, Cameroon, Mozambique, India, Nigeria, and Ghana

Nationals of Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru and Venezuela do not require visas for visits of 14 days and less;

Nationals of Chile, Uruguay and Mexico do not require visas for visits of 3 months and less.

BAHAMAS ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

For Visitors, entry requirements differ slightly depending upon place of birth, length of stay and what items accompany the traveler.

All persons entering The Bahamas require passports to enter, return or onward journey ticket, and proof of funds to support the traveller during the visit.

EXCEPTIONS:

UNITED STATES CITIZENS
Original birth certificate or certified copy with raised seal and Official photo identification (driver's license or voter's registration card) if not using a passport.

(a) Naturalized citizens require original naturalization certificate (copy not accepted). No photo identification is required.

(b) Alien residents of the United States, in possession of a US Alien Registration Card, may enter The Bahamas without a visa for visits not exceeding 30 days. Presentation of a national passport would facilitate processing.

Note: If nationals of the United States use a passport, the passport should be current or expired for 5 years or less.

CANADIAN CITIZENS
(a) These individuals may also enter The Bahamas without a passport for visits up to 21 days upon presentation of an original birth certificate. (Copy not acceptable)

(b) Landed immigrants, in possession of the Canadian Immigration Record Form 1000 may enter without a visa for visits not exceeding 30 days. These individuals should also have a national passport.

Note: If Canadian nationals use a passport, the passport should be current or expired for 5 years or less.

UNITED KINGDOM
